Ralf PistersChair
Ralf Pisters is music theorist and pianist. He works as a teacher of theoretical subjects and main subject Theory of Music at the Conservatory of Amsterdam. He also teaches theory at the Academie Muzikaal Talent. He is coordinator and vice-chairman of the Theory and History department of the CvA. As a theorist, he is interested in the analysis and writings of music belonging to the eighteenth and (long) nineteenth century. Aljoscha Paulo Jonas Ristow is a music theorist, composer, and choral conductor based in Maastricht. He studied music theory and composition in Bremen, Cologne, and Amsterdam. Since 2021, he teaches music theory at the Conservatorium Maastricht. His research mainly focuses on the historical understanding of music theoretical concepts. Jasper van Oerle teaches music theory and ear training at the Conservatory of Amsterdam. He is also employed at the College voor Toetsen en Examens, at which he is the chair of the finding comitte of music (VWO, HAVO, VMBO). Dominique van Rossum studies Music Theory (Classical) at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, where she also completed the bachelor Opleiding Docent Muziek, graduating cum laude. She is a theory teacher at the Opleiding Docent Muziek and Jazz department of the CvA. She also teaches piano and sings in choirs and ensembles of various styles. |

Alongside being main subject teacher in Music Theory at the Maastricht Conservatory, pianist Inge Pasmans teaches general theory courses in the Bachelor programs for Music Education and Classical Music. Her main interest lies in 19th- and 20th-century music; in her theory lessons, she aims for a practical, integrated approach through relative solmization.
